The above Image shows Nokia Ion Mini, the un-announced Nokia Android Smartphone from 2013. But wait, we all know that back in 2011 Nokia selected Windows Phone OS as their main Operating system for Nokia Smartphones. Later the decision turned out to be the biggest mistake for company. That’s a sad story & we may descuss it later in another article. But what about the above Nokia Ion mini un-announced Android smartphone ? Was company working on it ?

Evgeny Kozlov (Marketing Director of Httpool Russia) tweeted some images of Nokia Ion Mini (prototype) running on Android from 2013. The design looks inspired by Nokia N8. This device was never announced by Nokia. The images reveals some of its specs.

In the image below you can see the ‘Ion’ runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean :

The next images shows Iron was powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 SoC. Which suggests Ion was supposed to be midrage smartphone :

As per some media reports, at that time Nokia was testing Android OS for Nokia smartphones. Even they launched the Nokia X which was running on forked version of Android. But sometimes things never happen the way they should.
