Interestingly some select Nokia smartphones are now getting Google’s Nearby Share feature. This new feature allows Android smartphone owners to share the content instantly (such as files, pictures & links) from one device to another. It’s similar to some popular third party applications like SHAREit, Xender, etc.

Nearby Share on Nokia Smartphone

We can confirm this new Nearby Share feature is currently available on some select Nokia smartphones including Nokia 8.1, Nokia 7.2, Nokia 7.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 5.1 Plus, Nokia 4.2 & Nokia 3.2. But Google says that it is rolling out to devices running on Android 6.0+ which means you can expect it to become available on many more Nokia smartphones in the coming future.

If you want to know more about this new feature watch this short YouTube video published by Android:

How to Enable it?

As earlier shown in a screenshot, you can find this feature at the drop down menu or simply follow these steps:

  1. Turn on Bluetooth & Location
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Google > Device connections > Nearby Share > Turn on.

We also recommend you to update your Google App from Play Store, Restart your phone & try again.

Still won’t getting this feature even after following all the steps? Then we suggest you to wait for some time as such features generally rolls out in phases.
