Qualcomm has recently made an announcement of it’s latest “Snapdragon 888” 5G mobile platform for high-end Android smartphones. Now, as per the newly available information, upcoming Nokia flagship with Snapdragon 888/888+ 5G mobile platform is already in works.
As of now HMD Global didn’t have made any promise or hinted to Nokia fans about their plans to announce such a Nokia smartphone with super powerful processor. But such plans are always kept secrete because it takes a lot of time to design & manufacture the actual final product which passes thorough several prototype designs:
In addition to confirming the existence of Nokia flagship with Snapdragon 888/888+ mobile platform, Russian Nokia Community Nokia Anew also claimed that HMD Global will not be releasing it until the end of next year (2021). HMD Global could name it as Nokia 9 Sirocco/Nokia 10 or something else which will be appropriate.
It’s bit painful to say but HMD most of the time (if not always) introduces Nokia smartphones with old chipsets. It is not confirmed but my own prediction is that there must be chipset supply Or its high cost related issues.
We learned about similar problems through a book “Transforming Nokia” written by Risto Siilasmaa (Nokia’s former Chairman). It suggests that chipset manufacturers always considers large brands first while supplying their latest innovations. Also it’s financially difficult for small companies to purchase costly high-end chipsets.
So, they wait for some time & purchase them later at comparatively low price. As a result, many times customer feels device is too late in the market.
We hope HMD Global will introduce Nokia flagship with Snapdragon 888 on the right time.
