Yesterday (July 19) you might have gone through a picture of rumored Nokia feature phone running on Android OS. First reported by 9to5google.com a leaked image (above) shows the Nokia device running on Android OS but the identity of the brand has been hidden with a protective cover. You can clearly see the physical keyboard of the device looks pretty much similar to already announced Nokia 230. While the source also claims that the device belongs to Nokia. On the downside of the screen you can see icons like camera, Google chrome & YouTube. There is also a front facing camera on the top left of the device. Checkout the below picture for comparison of the above device with previously announced Nokia 230 :
This is interesting to see day by day feature phones are getting smarter. Until now HMD was using KaiOS which is popularly known as OS for smart feature phones. The Nokia 8110 4G is the company’s only device running on KaiOS. But after looking at this new leaked picture, it looks like HMD is no more interested in KoiOS.
If you remember, the Nokia 210 feature phone announced at MWC ’19 also runs on Nokia’s own S30+ OS. But a feature phone running on Android OS with a Nokia brand is very exciting. We hope this rumor to become a truth. For now, pricing & launch date of this device isn’t known. We’ll update this article with more exact details as soon as possible.
