Nokia Brand is still strong in terms of feature phones | Globally No.1

Even if Nokia isn’t a big name in the today’s smartphone industry but Nokia Brand is still strong in terms of Feature Phones. The last quarter (Q1 2019) was not that great for HMD. The Nokia brand was missing from the list of top 10 global smartphone brands.

But what about feature phones market ? Let’s find out below :

The recent data shared by Counterpoint Research shows, Nokia was the no.1 feature phone brand globally during Q1 2019. It has captured over 14 % market share.

I think these are very impressive numbers for HMD.

The iTel captured 12 % from the total market share & became the 2nd largest feature phone brand. While Reliance Jio was 3rd with 9 % market share.

These numbers shows the overall global feature phones market share. Now, we’ll discuss below the regional feature phones market share :

In India & rest of Asia :

In India, Nokia was the 4th largest feature phone brand following Reliance Jio, Samsung & Lava. Nokia brand captured over 8 % market share in the country.

While in the rest of Asia it was the no.1 feature phone brand with over 23% market share.

In North America & Europe :

Nokia was the 3rd largest feature phone brand of North America following Alcatel & LG. It has captured over 8 % market share.

Just like the global market share, Nokia was again the no.1 feature phone brand in the Europe with over 15% market share.

In LATAM & MEA :

LATAM (Latin America) is the market where Nokia needs to work more hard. The Nokia brand is still missing from the top 5 feature phone brands of Latin America. While in MEA (Middle East & Africa) Nokia feature phones captured over 14 % market share. It was the 3rd largest feature phone brand following iTel & Tecno.

After the above analysis, yes we can say that Nokia is still a strong brand in feature phones. We’re just expecting such impressive results in future for Nokia smartphones. We know that it will take some more time for Nokia to lead the smartphones industry again. But we believe that’s definitely possible & we’re eagerly waiting for that day.
