Official Nokia phones update tracker page has recently updated on the company’s official website. As per the information provided on the page, we can confirm that following devices are running on the December 2019 security patch. Those devices includes Nokia 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1 Plus, 3.2, 4.2, 5.1 Plus, 6.2, 7.2 & 8 Sirocco.
In addition to these devices Nokia 7.1, 8.1 & 9 PureView users also received the same update. But the official Nokia phones update tracker page didn’t have mentioned that (because the page was updated on December 30 & devices received the update later).
But there are several Nokia smartphones still running on the November security patch. Those devices includes Nokia 1, 1 Plus, 3.1, 5.1, 6.1, 6.1 Plus & 7 Plus.
We don’t know what’s the exact reason for this delay. But we’re expecting HMD to release the next update for these devices in the coming weeks without any delay.
For those who are asking, why they aren’t getting latest security patch on their Nokia 2, 3, 5, 6 & 8 device :
Do you have the same question ? If yes then let me explain, except Nokia 2 all the mentioned devices will now get the security updates on quarterly basis. So you can expect the next (January 2020) update to come in your phone. But unfortunately Nokia 2 is no longer eligible for any updates.
If you didn’t have received December patch in your Nokia smartphone then you can visit the update tracker page on Nokia.com/Phones by clicking here. Just select your model number and check if the update is released for build number of your Nokia. You can find the build number in the Settings>About Phone.
